Rock&Roll baby!

나도 잘 몰랐었는데, 내 작품을 보고 60-70년대 싸이키델릭 스타일 사람의 작품 같다고 그 시절을 살았던 유럽 할아버지의 말을 들은 적이 있다. 그러고 보니 나의 청소년 시절을 지배했던 70년대 롹밴드들이 나의 정신세계에 근본인 것 같기도 하다. 중학교 시절부터 LP 컬렉터였던 나는 매일 자기 전 앨범을 하나 골라 모든 곡을 가사지를 들고 읽으며 진지하게 음악을 다 듣고 잠이 들었다. 이렇게 중고등학교 시절을 보냈으니 나도 모르게 그 시절 앨범과 음악, 스타일이 나의 무의식에 박혔을테지.

얼마 전 지미 페이지 생일 때문이었는지, 알고리즘이 나를 레드 제플린으로 이끌었다. 며칠 전부터 레드 제플린 전 앨범을 처음부터 끝까지 듣고 있는데, 정말 다시 중학생이 된 것 같다. 기분이 좋아지고 열정이 되살아나는 느낌이네.

I didn't really know this about myself, but I once heard from a European grandfather who lived through that era that my work looked like something from the 60s-70s psychedelic style. Come to think of it, the 70s rock bands that dominated my teenage years seem to be fundamental to my psyche. As an LP collector since middle school, I would pick an album every night before bed, hold the lyric sheet, and seriously listen to every song all the way through before falling asleep. Having spent my middle and high school years this way, those albums, music, and styles must have been imprinted on my subconscious without me even realizing it.

Recently, perhaps because of Jimmy Page's birthday, the algorithm led me to Led Zeppelin. I've been listening to all of Led Zeppelin's albums from start to finish for the past few days, and I really feel like I'm a middle schooler again. I feel uplifted and my passion is coming back to life.
